Shopping on the “fly”!

FRRUUU! Like the air that passes through your hair, like the sound of a light fabric in the wind! A chic accessory, technological, for everyday needs, but still full of nostalgia and romanticism!
A project created in collaboration with two brilliant students of La Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti
Sara Ricciardi e Jacopo Sterlocchi for “Un designer per le imprese”, edition 2011.The trolley won a special price assigned by the jury for ambiental ecosustainability during the opening of the event.

A shopping trolley with aluminum folding structure, innovative, space-saving and ultra-light and resistant fabric - recycled as always - from hot air balloons that makes us dream.
The fabric of the balloon, a material (although very technological nowadays) which transmits great nostalgia for the times when we peacefully contemplated the earth from above without any interference or noise. "I discovered this ancient way of traveling last spring," says Carmen Bjornald, founder and designer of the brand Ceebee, "I enjoyed a balloon flight with my mother who has always dreamed of making this experience and I got emotional too!"The fabric is embellished with a permanent plissé, an ancient method which creates unexpected textures and surprising volumes. A folding aluminum frame to carry on your shoulders like a bag and to open on the way back home from the supermarket to give space for your groceries.
All ‘One of a kind’ – as always - adorned by label with identity and origin of the aircraft, flight hours carried out and information about the area in which it was used. This project is a 0km realization by employing exclusively companies and workmanship from Lombardia.

The prototype of FRRUU is visible at Triennale di Milano, the famous Milanese museum of design, in the hall of Material Connexion until al 10th of January.
A special thanks to Milano Mongolfiere who kindly donated the fabric.
